April 26 – A little better

Tonight’s update is being written by Big Tim

I have had nothing to eat by mouth, per the doctor’s orders, since Friday and am starting to fantasize about drinking extra large glasses of lemonade. 😉 With the IV nutrients, the rapid weight loss (32 lbs so far), seems to have stabilized. My body looks like a war torn battlefield – lots of bruises, holes, scars, and sagging skin from the rapid weight loss.

Despite all the above and, after starting the day with nausea and vomiting, I was able to spend most of the day out of his bed and in my chair. Along with encouraging visits from family, I was able to spend a little time on the rooftop garden watching a couple grandkids play, shave, and shower. It was a big day, but the shower took everything I had left out of me!

Third day post chemo was a little better and we are hoping that will continue. However, we have been warned that there could be a 1 step forward, 2 steps back period for the next couple weeks.

I want everyone to know that Little Tim’s update from Friday/Saturday was amazing and, if you haven’t had the chance to read it, please do. We are trying to be as candid as possible with this website so you know how to encourage and pray for us.

PRAYER REQUESTS:

Please pray for our family as the kids are realizing this battle is so much bigger than what I have fight for.

Tim, I pray you can feel the Lord sitting right there beside you. He knows what you’re going through. Lean into Him for your strength and comfort. Together, you’ve got this. I will continue to pray for your healing and for you to feel the Lord’s presence.

Tim – I think of you very often, and am grieving with you in this battle. My hope in life is that I leave a legacy of people saying my life is better because of Dave – it’s not about money in the bank, or having the most toys, it’s about lives changed. You are that kind of man – my life is better because of you. You embody the kind of “Jesus with skin on” that changes lives. You will forever be one of my heroes. I look around the TI and see your fingerprints everywhere. I think about students that have experienced life changing experiences because of you. Love ya brother! And I’m pulling for you. Let me know if you need some time on the couch – I can do that😉

Praying things continue to get better for you. I know this is a uphill battle and it will be tough. I hope that the treatments continue to work and their is healing at the end of this journey. Praying that the treatment gets better and you are missed at the Transportation Institute.

Praying for you and your whole family! I was listening to my Danny Gokey CD the other day and was reminded of the song “Stand in Faith” and so wanted to share that title with you. Praying for you all as you stand in faith!

Keep your chin up Tim! You are going through a difficult time but you can get through all of this. I am sure it is hard to stay positive when you feel rotten, but there are so many prayers being said for you and they are sure to help. Hugs to you and Cassie. Prayers for healing and comfort. Cooper was guarding the house well yesterday. Two deer were going to cross the backyard and he put up a stink and they turned around and went back down to the creek. He was real proud of himself, but not so brave during the recent thunder storms. We saw the big ground hog today and by the time Dan got the gun, he also had escaped down the hill by your pool ladder. Well hang in there. You will soon be home. We miss you. Becky and Dan.
