May 4 – Great News!!

Today we learned that the first round of chemo killed enough that Tim doesn’t have to go right back into another round of chemo! PTL!! He could be released from the hospital in the next 5-10 days. Depending on when his numbers rebuild, he will have to come back for a second round of chemo but the timing of that all depends on numbers. We still have our appointment in Iowa City on May 18th also.

Tim was a bit more tired today. He needed more platelets, phosphorous, and potassium today. He spent some time in the rooftop garden enjoying the sunshine and got a couple walks in.

PRAYER REQUESTS:

Tim continues to struggle with digestive issues, mouth sores (which make it very difficult to eat), skin irritations, and a very drippy nose. Please continue to pray that these issues clear up.

Prayers that Tim’s levels will build and we can be released from the hospital. We have been here for almost 4 weeks and are ready to fly the coop!

PRAISES:

Obviously, we are praising God for the wonderful news we received this morning!

Tim enjoyed a better night of sleep last night than he has had for a few days.

Just wanted to let Tim know we are all praying for him and miss him at DMACC! Glad he finally got some good news, and we are all very grateful for these daily updates. Can’t wait to see you back at the T.I, Tim! (no one has been making coffee since you have been gone). I guess we’re all just waiting for you to come back and start using the coffee maker again…..Continued prayers for you and the family!

Hi Tim! I’ve been reading your updates every day and praying for you!! It’s great to hear you get a little break from chemo. Just feeling a bit more “normal” sure lifts the spirits. I can commiserate with you on some your chemo challenges. 🙁 I struggled with mouth sores too. A friend recommended George’s Aloe Vera liquid and it really helped me. She said it had to be this brand and I see it’s available on Amazon. I think I just swished it around in my mouth a couple times a day and did not swallow it…but I know you can drink it too. It’s not awesome tasting. However, it’s better than a lot of the stuff they stuff in you. 🙂 I’m so impressed with your daily walking! Keep battling and know that God goes with you and before you!

PTL for the good news! Prayers will continue for continued good news. God is at work in your life. He loves you! You have a strong faith and a family you have passed this down to. It is nice that prayer requests are written to help guide us.
Know home will give you a big lift before you head to Iowa City.
    Prayers Don and Cheri

Praise God for all of the praises. It is amazing that you are able to get all of your walks in. How encouraging for you!! I didn’t find out you were sick until April 28th when I saw it on the prayer chain. But it wasn’t until yesterday that I realized I could go back and read your whole story from the diagnosis. I cried and I prayed Then I went and reread it all from beginning up until yesterday. It was cool to notice all of the little blessings that are coming. And your family, your precious precious family. What a joy to see how they can come with their families and surround you with their love. My brother couldn’t come to my HS graduation because he had been critically injured in a tractor accident. I remember being sad but my mom told me he would be there in spirit. So on Saturday, when Sarah is walking across that stage, she will know you are watching her and you will be right there in her spirit and heart!!! She will feel your love and know how proud you are of her!!! Prayers to all of you!!
